Just got back from Cali yesterday, i was in colombia for two weeks (Cali & CTG). Success hooking up with non-pro is directly proportional with your level of spanish. Spanish is a more important skill to learn than salsa(it's easy to learn salsa).

I tried the marriage agency route my first 3 days in Cali, like Captian's expereince, all the chicks spoke no english. But at least they are patience enough with me to help me practice my spanish, which is what i wanted anyway. The marriage angency is a good way for newbies to get your feet weet before heading off on our own. A better way to meet non-pro prior is thru the internet (ie, amigos, cypercudios, etc.,). I met up with my non-pro that way. Or hooking up with a regular colombian men, colombian men and women are very helpful and friendly. Next time i'm in cali, i'm not bothering with the marriage agency.

Check out Hollywood Casino in Chipichape, i was there everyday during the daytime and at night during the week, because there's really nothing to do during the day. It was either that or the casa during the day. It's very easy to meet regular chicks in the mall or stores if your spanish is decent. In the casinos on weekends evenings, there is a lot of hot chicks, but they tend to play routlett or slots. So if you play that and have a speak ok spanish, you have a good shot. my game was blackjack, most of the young hot ones don't play blackjack. an observation on casino or store chicks, most of them work really long hours, the girls i talk with both in casinos or stores work 8 to 12 hrs a day, 6 or 7 days a week. So it's a challenge to meet them after work, it's not like the states where they get off at 5 or 6pm then you can grab dinner or drink with them. A dealer chick working in Hollywood tell me she works 7 days straight with 1 day off. And this is during the school break, so they have no school before of after work.

Many of the regular girls i met tell me that they think "foreign men, ie gringos" are more educate, nicer, better manners(culture), generous, and faithfull(ha, ha) than most local men. So we have a good rep going in with most chicks add to fact that we're on vacation so were in a relax and fun mood. An example of generousity, when i play blackjack, and if i'm on a roll i sometimes do a "dealer play" of $2500 peso on my hands (10k to 20k peso), or if i get a soda i give a tip of 500 pesos. The dealers and drink servers appreciate it and of course any chicks at the table notice it too. the local men never do this, even when they have or are winning alot more money than me.
