i headed out to cartagena in april for just under 3 weeks with a good friend who is fluent in spanish. we managed to secure a great apartment from juan ventura at an excellent price. we were the first people to use it and it was exactly as juan had promised. i highly recomend jaun to anyone looking to rent. ok my initial impression of cartagena was that it's no bangkok. the 1st week we were there we hardly spotted another gringo. the main drag is very small and during the low season within a week EVERYONE will know you. this can be a problem if your bringing different girls back during the day, as my mate found out. the scene on the beach was very disappointing as there was hardly anyone around, however it did pick up during easter week when all the colombians came over for their holidays.

my mate spent quite a bit of time on the beach and over a period of a few days managed to hook up with a few girls and started collecting phone numbers which led to a number of afternoon sessions. LDV. as stated by everyone this is the place to go for the p4p scence.the first night i was there i hooked up with a real cutie and i ended up staying with her for just over a week. towards the end i was getting kinda fed up with her but these girls are just so clingy. a mistake i will not make again is going with the same girl 2 nights in a row. tu candela was closed for the first week of our trip and even when it reopened there were only a handfull of girls all of whom were much older (and more professional) than the LDV mob. one thing of note with LDV is that there are many girls that come over to ctg for the holiday season looking to earn a few extra dollars. non pros: as other posters have mentioned if your half decent looking it is very easy to approach and arrange dates with the local girls. on a short trip like this i find i dont have the time to play the dating game but midway through the trip i was shagged out so i arranged a date with a girl i met on the beach.

after a night of eating and dancing i got a nice snogging session but that was it. the following day she called me on the mobile but i had to blow her out due to other commitments. prices: the girls at LDV will try it on hoping you don't know the going rate. i never paid more than 100,000 and that was for the whole night. none of the girls asked for money upfront and only 1 did not want to do bbbj. overall after a very slow start we managed to have a great time so much so that i'll be going again in december.
