Most of the action takes place in the north and most of the best hotels are in that area. If you are looking to keep your hotel rates as low as they can be for a reasonable room, you might miss out on the opportunity to stay at a premium hotel without paying premium prices. You can find a fair amount of information about hotels in Cali online, but be careful about booking anything with a stateside agency or an online travel service such as travelocity or expedia. I found that in many instances the rates are better if you call the hotel and make reservations directly with them. Once there, pay with your credit card. You will be charged in pesos and you will get the bank rate of exchange.

There are some exceptions, so the best advice is to shop around. There are a few smaller hotels and inns that cater to American and forieg men who come to Cali in serach of women, although they might generally assume you're looking for a wife rather than play for pay. One such nice place is the Hostal San Fernando http://www.calihotel.com It is in the south of the city, but remember that, while the best action is generally found in the north, there are great casas located throughout the city and taxis are cheap and plentiful. Recently I stayed at one of the city's best located in the south and the doorman hooked me up with three nearby casas that were incredible. If you want the best, try the Intercontinental Hotel. You may find specials on their website, but you should be able to get a room there for no to much more than the equivilent of $100 US. This following webpage has

There have been some concerns about hotels not being too chica friendly, but since I generally only go to ther casas, I can't speak on which hotels have the most chica friendly policies. Most of the larger hotels will probably not even know or care who visits you in your room and for how long. Some of the smaller ones, however, that book rooms based on single occupany for a single traveler, might be problematic. Having the home court advantage with a chica is great and nothing beats an all nighter or even a weekend hookup, but I have always found the casas in Cali to be so relaxing, comfortable and easy going, that I never felt the need to take a chica back to my room.
